Service Advisor

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Increase customer satisfaction by having repairs done correctly the first time.
  • Manage all aspects of daily operations from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Attend two weekday evenings per month for meetings for the benefit of Kerner’s Auto Service operations and also participate in meetings on Saturdays four times per year.
  • Accomplish and maintain a high level of technician efficiency
  • Maintain exceptional standards for ethical business practices, professional image, orderliness and customer service.
  • Devote the necessary time and effort to become and remain highly knowledgeable with the operations of Kerner’s Auto Service and its involvement in the industry.
  • Maintain performance based incentive system to compensate and reward excellent personnel performance.
  • Understand, manage and improve Key Performance Indicators to increase net profit.
General Qualifications:
  • Must have a basic understanding of auto repairs systems and procedures.
  • Must possess the ability to learn new things quickly.
  • Must be a self starter.
  • Must possess good problem solving skills.
  • Must understand basic accounting principles.
  • Must possess excellent sales and customer service skills
  • Must be able to react quickly and prioritize tasks as needed for efficient business operation.
  • Team leader, resourceful and professional.
  • Possess keyboarding and computer skills.
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Dependable and able to work overtime as needed.
  • Possess a valid Michigan driver’s license and be able to be bonded.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Be Team leader for entire production staff.
  • Work with Owner to manage entire facility.
  • Work with Technicians to effect routines and procedures for speedy and accurate diagnosis and repairs.
  • Assist with Hiring, coaching, disciplining, and terminating employees as needed.
  • Initiate and execute annual employee reviews.
  • Track and maintain high Technician billable hours and efficiency.
  • Recognize need for and recommend training when needed.
  • Ensure marketing efforts are consistent to maintain steady car count.
  • Improve customer retention.
  • Review, maintain and grow projected revenue targets.
  • Monitor expenses to attain improved profitability.
  • Attend local events to maintain a company presence in the community.
  • Work to maintain and grow community awareness of the company in the community.
  • Help create written procedures for diagnosis and repairs or other operational issues as needed.
  • Maintain and update computer and scan tool software as they become available.
  • Road test every vehicle to insure high quality control and to ensure they are repaired correctly the first time.
  • Maintain a very high level of customer satisfaction and a very low rate of comeback repairs.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all vehicles. Maintain a clean facility and work area.
  • Attend and participate in meetings as required by management.
  • Attend company paid training.
