How long has Kerner's Auto Service been in business?

Kerner's Auto Service was founded by Ron Kerner in 1973, making us over 50 years strong. We've grown from a small two-bay station into a large nine-bay facility serving the Shelby Township community for generations.

Where are you located and what are your hours?

We're located at 2230 W. Utica Rd in Shelby Township, MI. Our shop is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM. We also offer after-hours drop-off and pick-up for your convenience.

Do you offer same-day service?

Yes! We strive for prompt turnaround and frequently complete repairs the same day. We respect your time and aim to get you back on the road as quickly as possible.

Is Kerner's a certified or accredited shop?

Yes. Kerner's is State-Licensed and ASE-Certified, holding the ASE Blue Seal of Excellence. We are also a member of IATN (International Automotive Technicians Network) and have received the BBB Torch Award for Ethics — the Better Business Bureau of Michigan's highest honor for ethical business practices.

What makes and models do you work on?

We service all makes and models: domestic vehicles, Asian imports, and European imports. While we specialize in the "Big Three" (Chrysler, Ford, and GM), no vehicle is outside our expertise.

Is Kerner's Auto Service more affordable than the dealership?

In nearly all cases, yes. There's nothing a dealership's shop does for you that we can't, except overcharge you. Our ASE-certified techs work on all makes and models with the same expertise and quality parts, but at a fair price.

What types of auto services does Kerner's offer?

We offer a comprehensive range of car services including oil changes & fluid services, engine repair & replacement, transmission repair, brake service & ABS, tire sales, tire rotation, wheel alignment, air conditioning repair, heating system repair, electrical diagnostics, shocks and struts, exhaust and muffler, hybrid vehicle services, check engine light diagnostics, factory scheduled maintenance (30/60/90/120K mile), state emissions inspections, minor body work, glass repair, car washing, and fleet services.

Do you sell tires?

Yes! We carry premium tire brands including Cooper, Michelin, Goodyear, and more, for all makes and models. If you would like to inquire about a specific tire brand or model, feel free to contact us.

Can you perform a pre-purchase inspection?

Yes. Bring the vehicle you're considering buying, and our ASE-certified technicians will provide a thorough assessment so you can make an informed decision before purchase.

Do you offer fleet services?

Absolutely. We provide fleet services including preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, state inspections, semi & commercial truck repair, pre-purchase inspections, and dedicated fleet accounts. Contact us to discuss your fleet's needs.

Can you perform digital vehicle inspections?

Yes. We use digital inspections, so you receive a detailed report, including photos and notes from our technicians, delivered right to your email or mobile device.
